Course Description<\/h3>

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements. They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Entry Requirements<\/h3>

While there are no entry requirements defined in the training package, AIE requires that the following criteria be met:<\/p>

  • Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old at the time of commencement.<\/li>
  • Successful completion of an Australian Equivalent Year 12 qualification or higher is required.<\/li>
  • A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no band\/sub-score under 5.0, a PTE score of 46, or a Certificate III in EAL or its equivalent, is necessary.<\/li><\/ul>

    In addition,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    • Applicants should have basic computer and MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Power Point)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

      Note:<\/span>\u202f<\/span>Alternatively, Students may demonstrate the Language, Literacy and Numeracy requirement through the college LLN assessment test.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      Course Duration\u00a0<\/h3>

      This course will be delivered over 52 weeks of full-time study including 12 weeks of holidays and breaks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      It is expected that the program would be less in duration for students who have completed components that can be identified by the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and\/or Credit Transfer.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>

      International students over the age of 18 who is working in the leadership or Management area or completed Certificate IV qualification within Business training package or similar qualification.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      Individuals may enter BSB50420 \u2013 Diploma of Leadership and Management with one-year vocational experience in leadership and management area or completed Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or similar qualification.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      Pathways from the qualification:<\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/h6>

      After achieving BSB50420 \u2013 Diploma of Leadership and Management, individuals could progress to BSB60420 \u2013 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management or other Advanced Diploma courses within the business training package.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      Career Prospects\u00a0<\/h3>

      This qualification provides a pathway to work in a managerial role within various Business setting. Possible job titles include:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      • Manager<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
        • Team Leader<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

          Delivery\u00a0<\/h3>

          Training is based on face-to-face classroom delivery including interactive classroom teaching, roll plays and tutorials.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

            Assessments\u00a0<\/h3>

            Assessment will usually commence in the session following delivery. As this is a competency based program, assessment continues throughout the program until the participant either achieves competency in the assessment tasks or a further training need is identified and addressed. Students will be required to perform in a range of assessment tasks including and not limited to: Written Assignment, Demonstration, Role Play, assignment and Project.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

            RPL \/Credit Transfers\u00a0<\/h3>

            The recognition of prior learning (RPL) pathway is appropriate for candidates who have previously attained skills and knowledge from outside the formal education and training system and which includes work and life experience.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

            Credit transfer is a process that provides students with agreed and consistent credit outcomes for components of a qualification based on identified equivalence in content and learning outcomes between matched qualifications.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

            Students may apply for RPL or Credit transfers for any unit in which they can successfully demonstrate competency.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

            To achieve the BSB50420 \u2013 Diploma of Leadership and Management qualification, candidates must complete 12 units, including 6 core units and 6 elective units, as outlined below:<\/p>
